A Bold Decision …
Marcelo Carcamo took a bit of a gamble when he pushed aside his stable job and created Integral Rehab Inc. His goal was simply to work in the home health field as an RPT. That was 20 years ago. Since then, Beth Rhodes has joined the team as a Speech Therapist and Operations Manager, and Integral has set a new industry standard for in-home care across LA’s South Bay and beyond. Along the way, they have built a reputation for creating positive relationships with Home Health Agencies and fellow therapists. But the path to Integral Rehab becoming successful, or even existing, wasn’t always so clear …
Athletic Stardom to California Dreams …
Marcelo was born and raised in Chile. As a young man, he was a stand-out in track and field. In fact, he was training for the 1984 Olympics when an injury derailed his athletic aspirations.
He decided to turn his focus to the study of physical therapy. For Marcelo, it was a natural transition after all the years he had spent around sports medicine and physical training as an athlete.
After completing his studies, Marcelo served on the Chilean Olympic committee, but he had an itch for new challenges. A chance meeting with an old friend led to a conversation about PT opportunities in the United States. He was thrilled by the possibilities, and his mind was set.
He landed in Los Angeles without speaking a lick of English, and he’s never looked back.
The Power of Two …
Beth had first become interested in the ST field at a young age. In junior high school, she attended speech therapy sessions with her hearing impaired cousin in order to help him with his daily speech practice. She found the experience engaging and very rewarding. And from that point on, she knew she wanted to become a Speech Pathologist.
When Beth met Marcelo in 2008, she was already an established professional. And soon after that first encounter, Marcelo and Beth began a personal relationship (they kinda liked each other).
By then, Marcelo had grown restless with Physical Therapy staff positions. He was eager to open his own business. Plus, Beth and Marcelo were ready to undertake a new journey together, as partners in life and business.
With their combined experience, they identified industry shortcomings and created a more effective, efficient, and patient-forward experience.

Today, Integral Rehab is highly-regarded by patients, Home Health Agencies, and therapists alike. And a big part of that is the honest, family atmosphere Beth and Marcelo have created, and their passion for helping people to live fulfilling lives.
